Fans of So You Think You Can Dance will be happy to learn that Season 18 of the show is set to begin filming this month. This time, the FOX show will move away from Los Angeles and tape episodes in Atlanta.
So You Think You Can Dance Season 18 Filming Soon
FOX has not officially announced Season 18 of So You Think You Can Dance, but casting for the new season was open as early as last September. Now the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that filming will start this month in Atlanta.
Filming will begin at Pullman Yards on December 4 and run through January 29. It sounds like this season will once again be pre-taped like Season 17, which aired last year. In the past, fans at home have been able to vote for their favorite dancers.
Despite production starting in just a few days, FOX has not announced who the judges and host will be for the next season. Cat Deeley has hosted the show since the second season, but she hasn’t been confirmed for Season 17.

Who Will This Season’s Judges Be?
SYTYCD has had a number of judges over the years, including Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo, Maddie Ziegler, and Vanessa Hudgens. Last season, the panel started off with Stephen “tWitch” Boss, JoJo Siwa, and Matthew Morrison.
Morrison ended up being fired from the show after he sent direct messages to one of the show’s contestants which the producers deemed inappropriate. He was replaced on the panel by Leah Remini.
Sadly, Boss passed away last December. It’s not clear yet if Remini or Siwa will be back on the panel for Season 18. Hopefully fans don’t have to wait too long to find out more about the new season, including a premiere date.
